Heaven has a new resident

Nana in her room before going to heaven.

I grieve for my Nana tonight. The hospital staff removed her from the ventilator and she went peacefully shortly thereafter surrounded by family and friends who loved her. I know Nana is the arms of the savior who loves her but my heart mourns. The transition from this life to life everlasting was seamless.

I watched the monitor that tracked her heartbeats count down to zero.

Elgin said that when they shut off the ventilator, Nana opened her eyes one last time and closed them. She hadn't opened her eyes since Saturday when my mom went to see her.

We had to come home and tell Mr. NFL. We cried some more but this kid said he's happy and sad at the same time. He's happy that Nana is with Jesus but sad that he can't see her anymore.

Nana has earned her rest. 94 years is a long time to spend in this place.

So like Mr. NFL, I'm excited for Nana but hurt at the same time.

Rest in Peace Nana.

I am sorry for your loss but I am sure the angles rejoiced and welcomed her in...
I am sure she looks down on your family with love in her eyes!
